Why hormone therapies?
As we age or suffer the various traumas life brings, our hormone levels drop and we feel it – fatigue, depression, loss of libido, skin wrinkling and drying, muscles shrinking, and weight gain despite our best efforts. Hormones are usually the answer, not anti-depressants, and not the other band-aids that your well meaning physician tries with little success.

Why natural?
In recent years the medical literature and research has shown us that synthetic hormones that do not in any way mimic our own hormones cause us problems – increasing the risk of breast cancer and vascular inflammation (leading to strokes and heart attacks) as examples – facts that are now well known among most careful physicians. The natural hormones (or biologically identical or bio-identical) do not give this risk and if used properly and in the right amount they give huge benefits – the literature is clear on this and our physicians all know it. Benefits such as heart and breast protection, resolution of hot flashes, migraines that go away, moisture everywhere you need it, and weight loss efforts that pay off.

And our physicians know how to use hormones properly. As a matter of fact they helped write the physician’s textbook on preventive medicine which included a completely referenced section on hormones and how they prevent disease. Our doctors are thorough and careful -- your first few visits usually have no time limit – however much you need to explain the details of your life and what happened and why and when and where and how.

Nothing can replace a carefully taken medical history. Plus our physicians know what questions to ask to get to the root of your problems. This visit will NOT be superficial. You will find no doctors with hands on the door knob at Aesthetica Preventive Medicine Institute.

Did you know out here in the west the average wait to see a doctor in the emergency room is 8 ½ hours! It’s our goal to give you the prevention keys to stay out of there as much as possible. And that’s refreshing. Just like our hormones and our approach to the best preventive medicine experience from which you’ll ever benefit.

What do we love to treat?
Here’s just a few ailments – PMS (at any age), women (and their spouses) in menopause, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, declining libido issues, people with unusual depression recalcitrant to therapies (you’ll be amazed at what we do and find), people who’ve had a head injury and now have horrible fatigue or depression, and pituitary issues.

Forms of payment accepted?
Of course you get what you pay for and sorry, but we do not accept insurance because we’ve found they do not pay us for our time or care. We’ve tried taking insurance but for most of the particular problems and for the true amount of time involved we’ve been unable to get reimbursement. If you’ve noticed the Salt Lake City Fibromyalgia Clinic of N.A. tried billing insurance and could get little if any reimbursement and it forced them, despite, their excellent service, to close their doors here in Utah – so that model does not work. That said, for the limited number of patients we accept into our practice we do accept all credit cards and of course, cash and checks. Thank you.
